Green Velvet and Picture overload.

Went to make red velvet today, but I was out of red :c(! I originally wanted to make a teal batter but I was realllly short on food coloring, and so dark green velvet was born! I know it's crazy but I have never ever tried red velvet before, I just knew lots of people loved it so much and my friends wanted me to try it. Obviously, it was really strange knowing if I got it right.... but everyone who tried them agreed they were amazing! and I've gotta say, this is the most delicious recipe I have ever made from scratch! Decorating them was so much fun, I bought the biggest star tip I could find and bought some sugar pearls and we just messed around with them, they came out so pretty the pictures don't even do them justice!

Rainbow Cookies!

Finally I'm up to date! One of my favorite things in the world since I was a little girl is rainbow cookies. Everyone has told me that they are so hard to make so I've held off, until now. Honestly, they aren't very difficult, just time consuming. I was too excited to wait the ten hours that was recommended, so I tried them after about 3? They were seriously the most delicious rainbow cookies I have ever tasted. The almond flavor was so good, breaking up the paste was worth it... and semi-sweet chocolate goes perfect with all the flavors. I want to make them again as soon as possible.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes

So good. I made these little guys a while ago also. There are so many ways to make these so I took a little from lots of recipes. It came down to me using applesauce, different spices, and caramel and heavy-cream for topping. I was bummed when I ran out of popsicle sticks, so I broke them into thirds cause they were so tiny! But they were so good! Next time I wanna mess around with the topping a little more.

Meghan's Birthday!

Made these in about an hour and a half for my friends birthday! How seriously cute is that box I found at ac moore?

rainbow minis

I am absolutely obsessed with miniature cupcakes. If I could make them for every single occasion I would. And I must say, changing up the color on them makes them even better.
after they were done I played with some frosting tips, I used the star and my friend used the pointed end. Most of them came out pretty ugly but we were fine with that, it was all in fun.

Panda love

First time with fondant

Did myself a favor and bought one of those sample packs of fondant and a cutter a while ago. I only had enough for a six inch round but I would definitely love to get more tools and do a really large cake like that in the future. I had some scraps left over so I tried to cover another one but was just able to do the top of it..

Hello Sunflower Cupcakes!

Before I even had any experience with piping or literally any kind of decorating (and clearly before a dslr came into play) I got Hello Cupcake! for Christmas 2008. I've got to give it to them, the ideas are great and the directions are so easy to follow. The Oreo centers were piped with frosting in a plastic bag cut at the tip. Everyone wanted to know where I got the idea from and this picture honestly doesn't do it justice. If you want some cute ideas to bring as a present to a birthday or event the book is definitely it, especially now that its only about 10 dollars.

Going wayyyy back.

Black Forrest Cake - is one of my favorite things to bake. Actually, it is probably what got me into baking... It's almost impossible to mess up, and once you have a batter you can add countless cherry flavors. I use black cherry soda and maraschino cherry juice, then more cherry juice in the frosting. I made this one over a year ago, but I still remember how good it tastes with all the deep chocolate that you use.

*I am trying to do this as least as possible (that is, talking about myself). But incase you just happen to come across my little blog, I feel it's sort of nice to put a face to the narration.....

My name is Jolee. I am twenty years old and an aspiring bakery owner. After studying psychology for about two years and different universities, I fell out of like with it. This time I went with my gut and what I really want to do. This is just a blog to share the pastry love... just me, my oven, good times, and some doughs/batters/meringues/etc.
